As one of the first providers of tourism education in

Chongqing, the School offers two undergraduate programs in Tourism

Management and Resources, Environment & Urban-Rural Planning.

Students graduate with the creative inspiration and

practical experience to shoulder the challenging responsibilities in

such sectors as environment and resources management, urban-rural

planning and management, tourism development and planning, hospitality,

travel agency.

The School incorporates external resources in its

teaching by cooperating with government, travel agencies, top-class

hotels and tourist attractions. It provides the municipality with such

services as resources survey and planning, management personnel

training, and decision-making consultancy, and it has established

internship bases with the Hilton and JW Marriot hotels. The students

have chances to sharpen their skills during such work-based learning

experiences.

More than 2000 students have graduated from the School

and taken jobs working for tourism supervision departments, tourism

institutions, hotels, and etc. Their sound overall capabilities and

professional skills enable them to work their way up to management

posts and win positive job-performance acknowledgement.

Tourism is a “sunrise industry.” That is to say, by 2020 China will

have developed from a large tourism country into a ”must-visit”

destination. Hence, a bright future of tourism industry can be

anticipated.
