Set up by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education of P.R.C., the “New Youth Global Competence Talents Training Plan” aimed at innovating the talent training mode and speeding up the nurturing of high-level international talents with global vision, international communication ability and competitiveness. A total of 59 colleges and universities in China were selected in the first batch, and Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU) is one of them.
On April 15, the opening ceremony for the “New Youth Global Competence Talents Training Program”, also known as the “New Youth Session” was held in Beijing online. Guests including YU Yougen, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, YIN Kai, Executive Deputy President of China International Educational Institute, MA Yansheng, former vice-president of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and other delegates from over 100 universities attended the meeting. BAI Qun, our vice-president, ZHANG Yi, Director of Division of International Cooperation and Exchange, MA Zhuang, headteacher of the New Youth Session, and student representatives joined the meeting online representing our university.
International cooperation and exchange have been greatly baffled due to the pandemic in the previous years. CTBU has been proactively enriching diversified education and teaching resources, creating global talent training methods, and widening our students’ global vision and growth space. The Program is a great trial to this end. Supported by relevant colleges, the Program, also the New Youth Session was opened successfully with 50 sophomores and juniors selected from 30 undergraduate majors. The first week lessons were given on April 16 and 17 with active discussions, pleasing atmosphere and high appraisal from organizer. Students from the class noted the lessons were “informative, educational and enlightening”.
