Cross Border E-Commerce & Digital Economy Training Program for Mexican Middle-Senior Managers Unfolded

Organized by Education Commission and the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government and undertaken by Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU), the Cross Border E-Commerce & Digital Economy Training Program for Mexican Middle-Senior Managers kicked off on June 7 (MST 6) with an opening ceremony held in Chongqing Foreign Affairs Building online. SUN Fangcheng, president of CTBU chaired the ceremony, and Carlos Castillo, Director of the Planning and Evaluation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Jesús Seade, Mexican Ambassador to China, JIN Ling, Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, WANG Wen, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and BAI Qun, vice-president of CTBU attended the event. About 30 participants from local governments in Mexico participated online.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico. At the opening ceremony, Carlos Castillo expressed his congratulations and gratitude to the program, and his expectation that the participants could learn more experience and technology from China, so as to further improve the pace and quality of e-commerce and digital economy in Mexico. Jesús Seade noted that the training program is a cooperation project jointly carried out by the Mexican and Chinese governments, local governments and universities, and an innovative measure for the development of bilateral relations.

JIN Ling conveyed her wish that the cooperation and exchange between Chongqing and Mexico can be leveled up through this program.

WANG Wen said that Chongqing has long been working on serving the exchanges between China and Mexico. Hope this training program can deepen the practical cooperation between Chongqing and Mexico.

SUN Fangcheng debriefed the basics of CTBU and promised to make every effort to well host the program to contribute to the comprehensive and rapid development of relations between China and Mexico.

After the opening ceremony, HUANG Zhongyi, Dean of the School of Management Science and Engineering of CTBU, who was directly responsible for the project, introduced the project arrangement to the students and put forward the learning requirements. XIE Xin, Professor of the School of Economics, gave a lecture in English entitled "Chongqing: Strategic Hub of China's New Frontier".

To be given in the way of “online live broadcasting + pre-recorded videos”, the lessons include "Digital Transformation and Innovation of Enterprises", "China's Plan for The Integration of Digital Economy and Real Economy", "Internet Business Model & Internet Marketing", "E-Commerce into The Countryside: China's Successful Practice and Its Inspiration to Mexico". The participants are officials from some Mexican provincial governments. In the following month, they will systematically study China's experience in cross-border e-commerce & digital economy and promote the development of Mexican e-commerce industry.
